St. Louis Computer Retailers and Internet Service Provider Companies

(This used to be called the Clone Provider list, but who calls them clones any more?) Here are some of the smaller system retailers listed in the St. Louis Computer User and The Midwest Technology Journal (formerly St. Louis PC Journal). I am leaving out the "big box" retailers like Best Buy, CompUSA, OfficeMax and even the Wal-Mart's and Target's who now sell computer hardware dirt cheap and have driven many of these smaller shops out of business. I believe many of these places are probably out of business too. Please e-mail me if you know of any updates. I personally only frequent a few of them.

Here are some St. Louis based Internet access services:

Look for providers for the 314 618, or 636 Area Codes

For inexpensive ISP's also check out the Freedom List

These are now listed alphabetically so we don't look biased. I also removed all the prices since they were very, very old...

These Larger Internet Access Services offer local access in St. Louis:

This list keeps shrinking as everyone merges, gets bought out or just closes down. Soon it will be AT&T and Charter and that's it!
AT&T/SBC DSL Services The monopolistic takeover continues...
Charter Pipeline The power of your local cable monopoly!
CompuServe An oldie still trying to hang around
EarthLink Network One of the biggest and oldest independent providers
Juno / NetZero Same Company now CHEAP ISP!
MacConnect Apple Believers get access too
People PC Online A little, friendlier place in a sea of sharks
SBC(AT&T) Yahoo! DSL Yes, our lousy local phone monopoly!
